Q: Why do you volunteer to be on the board of Run Nova Scotia?

A: I volunteer on the board for a number of reasons - the board is made up of fantastic people who respect each other and Run Nova Scotia members so I enjoy hearing their opinions and perspectives on a sport that I love. I also want to make a difference by contributing what I can and sharing my skills. I love getting an age class award at the Run Nova Scotia awards banquet too and sitting on the board puts me 60 pts closer to that goal ;)

Q: How long have you volunteer on the Run Nova Scotia board?

A: Since December 2014

Q: What is your favorite Run Nova Scotia series event and why?

A: Nova Scotia Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km - the event is well organized, the race director and staff are dedicated to making the event bigger and better (including working with the local community), it's a community event, it's in a beautiful location in NS, the food is awesome, there are tons of prizes for its participants, the course is a bit of a challenge without being overwhelming, it's timing couldn't be more perfect - happening midway through my training most years and it's also far enough away from home to feel like a mini vacation.

Q: Why do you run?

A: I run to be with friends, to stay healthy, to proactively defend myself against stress, to be happy and to eat many more than one dessert.

About Us

Since 1983, Run Nova Scotia has fostered and promoted road running all across Nova Scotia. From one running boom to the next, our mission has not wavered: to promote health, fitness, and camaraderie to people of all ages and abilities through the sport of road running. For close to 30 years, we’ve supported the unique needs and goals of anyone from Yarmouth to Sydney who has decided to lace up a pair of running shoes and join the thousands of other Nova Scotians running the roads.
